This work is a continuation of the Terra Incognita piece
produced for the Sculpture Cymru Journey: Response to Place project.
These bricks recall the many brickworks in the area and record the numerous derelict farms that lie on the hillsides surrounding the farm where I live in the upper Swansea Valley. The unfired bricks were carried to the various ruins and impressed with materials or objects found at the sites. They were then taken back to the studio, stamped with the farm names and fired.
